New order of customs payments for exports and imports of fruit and vegetable produce, approved by the special resolution of the President Gurbangula Berdymuhamedov, has been introduced in Turkmenia since August 1, AgroBel.by reported.

According to Yazgelda Bayramov, the head of the department of customs payments of the State customs service of Turkmenia, the country approved six new lists of commodities, for which the customs duties are substantially lowered or even cancelled for private entrepreneurs – legal entities and individuals, engaged in export-import operations.

In particular, the half of products was excluded from the old list of commodities imposed with customs duties at the border, including fresh and cooled vegetables, fresh potatoes.

Combined customs rates were used in the efficient till the recent time list of the imported commodities. Currently, the entrepreneur pays a specific percent – only for the quantity of the products or only basing on its customs value.

At that, a new rule of melons exports and other agricultural commodities was introduced to the list of the commodities allowed for import any time without customs payment and quantity restrictions. In particular, customs payment for exporters of melons, watermelons, grapes and other agricultural crops will not be collected only during two summer months. As for the rest time, the agricultural producers will have to pay 5% from the customs or market value of the produce.

"New order of customs payment provides appreciable advantages for our entrepreneurs”,- reported Ya. Bayramov to the journalists. He noted that currently the entrepreneurs can faster prepare customs declaration, freely and without duties import some necessary commodities to the country and sale their products abroad at the optimal prices”.
