Moldova: difficulties with grape purchasing
As it was reported by IA “News Moldova” referring to the Ministry of agriculture and food industry of Moldova, purchasing of grapes from the population for the industrial processing has some difficulties.
As of the beginning of October, nearly 100.000 tonnes of grapes were purchased, down 2.5 times less from the same period last year, although the harvest is bumper and totals 650.000 tonnes of grapes. The main reason is extremely low purchasing prices of the plants. For example, white technical varieties are purchased from the farmers at the price of 0.14 euro/kg and the red varieties – of 0.22 euro/kg.
