Russia: hothouse cucumbers to rise in prices
Prices for hothouse cucumbers of domestic production continued to increase, reported representatives of hothouse industrial complexes to the specialists of Fruit-Inform project. At the moment, in Central region, wholesale prices for hothouse cucumbers are declared within a range of 1.55-1.97 euro/kg, whereas in Western and Siberia regions the price range reached 2.12-2.26 euro/kg. These indices are up 10 – 15% compared to the same indices of the previous week. According to market participants, the main reason is further reduction of produce supplies from hothouse industrial complexes. However, most market operators reported that growth rates may substantially decrease due to increase of supplies of imported cucumbers from Iran and Turkey, and prices are declared within the lower range of 0.93-1.41 euro/kg.
