Ukraine: purchasing prices for beet down

According to the information provided by the specialists of Fruit-Inform project, purchasing prices for beet declared by processing enterprises, decreased in 1.5 - 2 times compared to the price level of the last year. At the moment processing plants declare purchasing prices within a range of 0.07 - 0.11 euro/kg, as compared to the prices of the last year when prices reached the level of 0.13 euro/kg.

According to the specialists, this situation was caused by increase of beet production in Ukraine. Last year, some enterprises had difficulties with purchasing due to active sales on the fresh produce market. At the moment the market is saturated with beet and there are no difficulties with raw material purchasing in the processing sector. However, as specialists of processing industry reported, price decrease for finished commodities is improbable because of rise in prices for energy recourses.
