Russia: grain purchase interventions results as of Jan 21
In the course of exchange tenders within the framework of ongoing state grain purchase interventions in Russia as of January 21, 2003 the state purchased 30,900 tonnes of milling wheat Class 3 and 64,700 tonnes of milling wheat Class 4, Russian Agriculture Ministry's Federal Agency for Food Market Regulation has informed.
Over the thirty-three trading days since November 13, 2002 till January 21, 2003 the state has bought into the intervention fund 863,300 tonnes of milling wheat Class 3; 1,574,300 tonnes of milling wheat Class 4 and 380,000 tonnes of milling rye Group A. The total amount of the milling grain, purchased by state, has been 2,817,600 tonnes. Total value of the purchases has constituted 4,912,200,000 roubles, out of the 6 billion rouble loan, provided by the Savings Bank of Russian Federation.
According to the Federal Agency, grain purchase tenders are suspended since January 23, 2003.
