Prime Minister Anatoliy Kinakh entrusted corresponding Ministries and Departments to take adequate measures for sugar market normalization during a meeting on the progress of fall field works held on September 10. Minister of Agrarian Politics announced this, answering reporters' questions after the meeting. He pointed out that sugar beet crop would fully meet the demand of the domestic market, while import from near foreign countries of cane sugar that is cheaper for one third is a destabilizing factor.
According to Ivan Kirilenko, this year Ukrainian buyers have already received about 300 thousand tons of cane sugar from Belarus, Moldova and Russia. Large purchasing volumes abroad are explained by cane sugar being included in the regime of free trading, the Minister of Agrarian Politics pointed out.
