Ukraine: potato crop increased by 7.2%

As of the beginning of November, 189.700 tonnes of potatoes were harvested in the Crimea, up 7.2%, compared to the same period of 2007, reported representatives of the main statistics department of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to UNIAN.

According to this information, harvested areas of potatoes increased by 6.3%, at that, yield increased by 0.8 c to the level of 92.6 c/ha.

Gross crop of open-soil vegetables in the Crimea increased by 23% compared to the same period of the last year and totaled 176.600 tonnes, harvested areas increased by 20 %, yield – by 13.6 c (to 126.5 c/ha).
