On February 13 Louis Dreyfus & Co will stop operations to commemorate its deceased head

On Thursday February 13 a well-known in Ukraine grain trading company Louis Dreyfus & Co will suspend trading operations to honour the memory of its late head and co-owner Jean Louis-Dreyfus, who died on February 2 after a short disease.

Jean Louis-Dreyfus, a grandson of the company's founder Leopold Louis-Dreyfus, was Vice-President of the company since 1975 and President of the Board since 1967 till 1975. Currently the company remains in management of Louis-Dreyfus family.

The company was founded in 1851 in Paris and currently is one of the largest agro-industrial companies in the world. It has offices in 53 countries and is engaged in trade of grain, energy, processing of agricultural products, exploration and development of oil and gas fields; operates in the field of international transportation, forestry and wood processing, telecommunications and real estate.

The company is one of the leaders of grain market in Ukraine, engaging in export of grains and other agricultural products.
