Russia: situation on the market of imported citrus

At the moment, deficiency of tangerines is observed on the domestic market of Russia. As many specialists reported, the main reason is that resources of tangerines are coming to the end, taking into consideration growing demand for this citrus. In these conditions, most market participants forecast increase of prices for tangerines. The prices for lemons are quite low and stable due to bumper crop of lemons in Turkey that is one of the leading exporters of this produce.

As a result of high demand for oranges and insufficient supply to the Russian market that were observed earlier, at the moment, Russian market is oversupplied with oranges imported from Egypt, Morocco and Turkey. In this connection, prices for oranges are expected to decrease and this trend will predominate in the nearest future.
