Ukraine to face deficiency of high quality potatoes

As leading producers of seed potatoes in Ukraine forecast, Ukraine may face a deficiency of high quality potatoes in new season. They reported that demand for high quality potatoes decreased by several times due to high prices. During the last year, prices for elite seed potatoes were declared within a range of 0.48-0.58 euro\kg, but at the moment, minimal price increased to the level of 0.96 euro\kg. Besides, as a result of crisis, producers have to economize not only on seed potatoes, but also on machinery and fertilizers that will lead to decrease of potato quality. Thus, as specialists forecasted, deficiency of high quality potatoes and high prices would be observed on the domestic market of Ukraine in autumn.
