Ukraine: deficiency of cucumber and tomato seeds
According to official information, sellers of seeds in Ukraine are not able to satisfy demand for seeds of cucumbers and tomatoes. As a result, despite demand decreasing from farmers, the current season may become unprofitable on these positions. The point is Europe that is the main supplier of seed material to Ukraine decreased seed production as a result of weather cataclysms. At the moment European producers manage to satisfy needs of domestic consumers and Ukrainian importers did not receive requested volumes of produce. Thus distributors who had stocks of the last year managed to sell them at the highest possible prices.
