President of Ukraine commissioned General Procurator's Office to look into bread prices

President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma commissioned General Procurator's Office to analyse situation with formation of bread prices in the country. He declared this on Monday at the meeting with local authorities and representatives of government in Kiev.

"Situation with bread prices is unjustifiably conflicting", he said.

He added that he blamed the situation, first of all, on the previous government. However, the current Cabinet also "has had enough time to see where the bread went, not to throw it out to tenders from the state reserve, but to find out where the bread disappeared", the President said. "Our task is to prevent growth of bread prices. This is the task of the government and of governors in person", he said.
