Ukraine: frost and drought cause damage to early vegetables

Weather conditions are unfavorable for growing early vegetables, reported Ukrainian farmers to specialists of APK-Inform. Night frost caused substantial damage on early cabbage and potatoes and almost destroyed plantations of strawberry in most regions of Ukraine. The most substantial damage was caused by frost in Eastern regions of Ukraine.

However, frost is not the only problem that causes difficulties for domestic farmers. Lack of rains has negative influence on yield of early onion, potatoes and root crops. Farmers still hope that rains at the beginning of May will improve the current situation.
