Kozachenko's lawyers appealed against his arrest
Attorneys Ihor Usenko and Larisa Zhuravska on March 31 have appealed to Kiev City Appeal Court against the decision of Kiev's Pechersk District Court, sanctioning arrest of former Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Leonid Kozachenko, Ihor Usenko has said APK-Inform reporter.
He said it was not possible to say when the appeal would be considered, as the Court was not bound by any time frameworks to take this case.
The former official was charged of office abuses resulting in grave consequences and tax avoidance in especially large size. Ukraine's Criminal Code provide for up to 8 and 10-year imprisonment for the above crimes correspondingly.
The district court sanctioned Kozachenko's arrest on March 27.
