Moscow's food department delegation visiting Ukraine
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Ivan Kyrylenko has met today with members of Moscow Food Resource Department delegation, which is currently on a visit to Ukraine. Official sources said the parties had discussed supplies of Ukrainian foodstuffs. There has been also brought up an issue of opening Ukrainian wholesales markets and trade centres in the city of Moscow. The delegation is to stay in Ukraine for five days.
According to information from Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers, in 2002 Russia's capital consumed 750,000 tonnes of meat, of which 70,000 tonnes were supplied from Ukraine. However, the main suppliers of meat produce to Moscow's market are Germany, Poland and Brazil.
