Ukraine: import of canned maize lowered by 3 times
According to official data, in June 2009, Ukraine imported 0.31 thsd tonnes of canned sugar maize, a decrease of 2.9 times compared to June of the previous year. Hungary and Russia provided the main supplies of the product. In June, the average prices of import supplies increased by 29% compared to the previous month, and up 77% compared to June 2008.
