Preferential raw sugar import to Ukraine in the amount of 369,000 t approved by Parliament
Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine) on its plenary sitting May 22 has adopted a corrected bill about preferential imports of cane-origin raw sugar to Ukraine. The bill was favourably voted by 235 people's deputies. The bill stipulates import to Ukraine of 360,000 tonnes of raw sugar in the period till September 1, 2003, with the import tax in the amount of 1 percent, but no less than 6 euros per tonne.
The previous variant of the same bill stipulated a quota in the amount of 280,000 tonnes of raw sugar.
