Malaysia offers Ukraine loan to buy palmoil
President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma told journalists Monday after negotiations with Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad, who is now on a four-day visit to Ukraine, that this country had offered Ukraine a $50 million tied credit for purchases of palm oil. This proposal is currently being studied by the Ministry of Economy, the President said.
Mahathir Mohamad said that Ukraine was a very good partner for distribution of Malaysian goods on its own market and in the neighbouring countries. In return, Malaysia could serve as a gate for distribution of Ukrainian goods in the countries of South-Eastern Asia and the Middle East, said Malaysian Prime Minister.
