Chilean Fresh Fruit Association took a decision to be an exclusive sponsor of Fresh Produce Ukraine 2011 Fair. Such a fact confirms Chilean Association's strategic interest to the Ukrainian fruit market and a high status of the exhibition which will be hosted from November 30 to December 2, 2011, at IEC, the most up-to-date exhibition center of Ukraine in Kiev.
Chile is the biggest exporter of fruits in the Southern Hemisphere and the third biggest exporter of this produce in the world with only USA and Spain ahead. The country is the most dynamically growing player in the global fruit market and an absolute leader in per capita fruit and vegetable exports. Chile's fresh produce sector is one of the most efficient in the world with a number of fresh produce export categories being more than 75 and a number of importing countries exceeding 100 notwithstanding a distance of dozens of thousands kilometers to the nearest target market.
As of today, Chile is the global leader in exports of fresh table grapes, apples, plums, blueberries, and enters the group of three world's major exporters of fresh sweet cherries and kiwifruits. The country takes the fourth place in exports of peaches and nectarines, pears and raspberries, and is one of the global leaders in nut exports. In addition, Chile is actively developing its citrus and pomegranate exports. Thanks to high quality of Chilean produce and developed infrastructure, the country has a good reputation among all its clients.
Chilean suppliers have been actively increasing their kiwifruit and table grape shipments to Ukraine in recent years. Moreover, Chile exported record-breaking 450 tonnes of apples to Ukraine in the first half of this year. In addition, Chile supplied peaches, nectarines, citrus fruits, pomegranates and even fresh sweet cherries to Ukraine in the past 2 seasons.
