The modern technologies of peach post harvest handling, packing and storing will be demonstrated this week in Odesa oblast
The official dedication ceremony of fruit storage chamber will take place in Favorit cooperative on the 8th of July 2005 in village Starokozachje, Odesa oblast. The cooperative members won the competition of the grant program of Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) and received the cooling equipment. Due to this equipment the cooperative will be able to supply fruits on market 1-2 weeks later the mass harvesting time, decrease significantly the spoilage rate and finally get the better price for the produce.
During the event the participants will be able to see the abilities of the cooling equipment for peach transportation and storage; the complete chain of operations from fruit harvesting to the produce supply on the supermarket shelf will be demonstrated.
Before the dedication ceremony the Orchard day and press conference will be conducted. One can see and try peaches produced by Favorit cooperative members utilizing the modern horticulture technologies. The modern packing for fruits and the opportunities to cool produce for the effective transportation to the sales points will be demonstrated.
Alexander Lasinski, the coordinator of Odesa AMP office, Sergey Pukhkan, the chief of Favorit cooperative, and Raisa Volik, the Senior AMP Specialist of Cooperative Development will participate in the press conference dedicated to the AMP grant program opening in Odesa oblast.
The press conference will be held on the 8th of July 2005, 2:00 p.m. in the premises of Favorit cooperative, village Starokozachje.
The mass media representatives are invited to participate in the Orchard day, the demonstration of cooling equipment and gala dinner dedicated to the event.
The transportation is provided by the Agricultural Marketing Project.
The tentative working schedule is as follows: 9:00 - departure from Odesa, 10:00-14:00 - Orchard day, 14:10-14:30 - press conference, 14:30-16:30 - dedication ceremony for cooling equipment and gala dinner.
