Conclusions of the first international conference "Perspective trends of fruit & vegetable business 2008: Commercial nuts orchards"

On the 31st of January 2008 the first international forum "Commercial nuts orchards" was held in Kyiv. The event was organized by "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly in the framework of its new project "Perspective trends of fruit & vegetable business".

More than 120 persons participated in the conference; they represented seven countries.

There is no exaggeration to say that the conference was an event in the national nuts industry. The leading specialists of nuts business from CIS countries (Ukraine, Russia, Moldova), and also the experts from foreign countries (Poland, France, Great Britain, Greece) made their presentations during the forum.

The representatives of various segments of nuts market participated in the conference: they were producers, suppliers of seedlings and equipment of nuts production, post harvest handling and processing, the companies - traders of nuts in the country and abroad.

Also, the question of the creation of the National Association of Nuts Business of Ukraine was discussed during the forum.

The participants unanimously recognized a high importance of the conference and proved their interest to participate in the events of the kind on the annual basis.
