Moldova exempts import of seeds from VAT

According to agency Basa-Press, the latest estimates have shown that deficit of grain seeds in Moldova constitutes now 27,500 tonnes. The government will make some changes into the Tax Code and will free imports of wheat, barley and rye seeds from payment of value added tax.

Autumn sowing in Moldova is to be started on September 10 to 15. Winter wheat is going to be placed on 336,400 hectares and winter barley - on 68,000 hectares.

Last year winter wheat was sown on 342,000 hectares.
