Polly Group has installed Stepac's Xsense system

As Fruit-Inform Project was informed by Stepac (the Israeli company), Polly Group, one of major Ukrainian importers, has installed Xsense produce quality monitoring system at its enterprises.

This system enables to monitor full real-time information of air temperature and humidity in warehouses and distribution centers, where perishable produce is contained. Besides this, system sensors are mounted in transport and inform company of shifts in optimum performance by the use of mobile communication. Also, the system enables to monitor temperature and humidity during all time of transportation that reduces risks of losses and complaints of produce quality, and increases liability of carrier.

As to opinion of experts, installation of this system can be repaid rather quickly, as it will enable to decrease produce quality losses.

Polly Group is one of major Ukraine's fresh produce market operators and deals with production, storage, imports, post harvest handling, packing, logistics, and distribution of more than 60 fruit and vegetable categories. The company provides more than 800 regular and about 1,000 seasonal positions of employment. Polly Group disposes of 13 distribution centers throughout Ukraine, a logistic center in Belgorod (Russia), an enterprise in Cairo (Egypt), which are equipped for refrigeration, gassing, storage, pre-sale preparation, and packing of produce.

According to the company's own information, Polly Group is undoubted leader in Ukraine's banana market sharing 51% in it, and holds the second place in citrus import volumes with a share of 28%. The main clients of the company are major retail chains: Ashan, Metro, Fozzy Group, Furshet, Billa, Velyka Kyshenia, Kopeyka, Eko, Tavriya-V, Rainford, Real, Proekspress, Amstor, and many others.
