Government suggests freeing grain imports from VAT - VPM for agriculture
Ukraine's government suggests submitting to Verkhovna Rada for consideration the bill about exemption of food grain imports to Ukraine from value added tax, in order to stimulate grain supplies to Ukraine, Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister for Agriculture Ivan Kyrylenko has said today at the Government's Day.
Ministry of Agrarian Policy Serhiy Ryzhuk considers that exemption grain imports from VAT will help fill domestic market with necessary amount of grain.
According to forecasts of grain market participants, grain imports to Ukraine in 2003/04 marketing year (July to June) will constitute about 3 million tonnes.
