Livestock numbers in Ukraine dropped on a year
As of September 1, 2003 the number of cattle with all categories of livestock breeders in Ukraine constituted 9.03 million heads, being by 1 million heads smaller than the number, registered as of the same date last year. The number of cows decreased 7 percent on a year and constituted 4.6 million heads.
The number of hogs has decreased 7.2 percent from early September 2002, now being 8.96 million heads. The number of poultry dropped 1.6 percent from last year's values - down to 180.68 million heads.
