The third international conference “Potato and Vegetables of Ukraine-2011” has begun its work in Lvov

Today, February 24, 2011, the third international conference “Potato and Vegetables of Ukraine-2011” has begun its work. This event is taking place at Shuvar, the largest fresh fruit and vegetable wholesale market in Ukraine, that for the last three years has become a traditional meeting place for leading experts of fruit and vegetable business of Ukraine, CIS, and other foreign countries.

The conference was organized by Fruit-Inform Project and Shuvar agricultural produce wholesale market. The general sponsor of the event is Bayer company which Nunhems® branch enters the group of four leading vegetable seed companies of the world. Ducatt center for agrarian technologies is the sponsor of the conference.

What situation will be in the market in the season 2011/12? Will producers' hopes for the following season be realized, and what should be done for it?

Specialists of the sector will help producers plan their business in the new season. Almost all major seed, material, equipment and machinery suppliers are to participate in the conference. Fruit-Inform Project's vegetable production and price forecast will be an excellent guideline for farmers in the new season.

The companies started the fruit and vegetable business relatively not long ago will have a great chance to get a consultation from leading experts as there are all major potato and borsch (onion, cabbage, beet, carrot) vegetable producers of Ukraine among participants of the conference.

The second day of the conference will be fully devoted to the training seminar for potato producers of Ukraine “Production of high-quality potatoes is a business of professionals” which was organized under support of IFC. The seminar will be conducted by Prof Peter Schumann.
