Russia: greenhouse vegetables decreasing in price, traditional vegetables increasing

Fruit-Inform Project's Russian fruit and vegetable index shows that the cost of fruit and vegetable basket of Russian consumers has not practically changed over last week due to multidirectional price trends.

Greenhouse cucumber prices were stable in Russia over last week; however, greenhouse tomatoes decreased in price by 25% at once. Fruits has also decreased in price (by 1.5% over a week) owing to bananas. However, decrease of prices for greenhouse vegetables and fruits was compensated by growth of traditional vegetable prices as cabbage and beets kept on growing in price. In total, a traditional set of vegetables and potatoes increased in price by 4.5% over last week.
