Fruit and veg prices decreasing in Russia

Fruit-Inform Project's Russian fruit and vegetable index shows that the cost of fruit and vegetable basket of Russian consumers has decreased by 1.8% over last week against a background of prices lowering for imported fruits and greenhouse vegetables. In such a way, fruit and vegetable prices have decreased by 2% over March, while they have increased by 9% over the same period in Ukraine.

Last week fruit prices decreased by 2.8% due to bananas and lemons. And even slight increase of apple prices was not able to compensate it. Greenhouse vegetables decreased in price too: averagely by 9%. As to traditional vegetables, they were stable in price.

Analysts of Fruit-Inform Project forecast the further increase of fruit and vegetable prices to be experienced in Russia in March.
