Fruit and veg prices kept on decreasing in Russia
Fruit-Inform Project's Russian fruit and vegetable index shows that fruits and vegetables have decreased in price by 2.5% in Russia during last week, after 1.8% decrease a week earlier. In such a way, fruit and vegetable prices have not practically changed in Russia in March; however, in Ukraine, prices have grown by 12% during the same period of time.
Last week prices in Russia grew only for greenhouse tomatoes as import shipments sharply fell in the country. At the same time, prices for traditional vegetables and fruits kept on decreasing. Traditional vegetables became 1% cheaper, and fruits – 3.5% cheaper. Among vegetables, we may mention the slight price decrease for carrots and cabbage due to increase in imports.
