Leading representatives of berry business from 10 countries will gather in Lviv on May 19, 2011
This year the Second International Conference “Berries of Ukraine-2011: Freezing and Fresh Market” which starts its work in Lviv on May 19 will gather a record number of participants as more than 150 representatives of 10 countries of the world will take part in it. This event will also include an international berry exhibition, business tours to two big berry processing enterprises, guided tour to Shuvar Wholesale Market, and Lviv sightseeing tour.
List of participants of the conference includes many leading suppliers of planting material, equipment and machinery for growing, cooling, post-harvesting, sorting, and processing of berries as well as representatives of wholesale enterprises and supermarket chains.
The conference was organized by Fruit-Inform Project and Shuvar Wholesale Market, and the latter will also make a presentation of Stolichnyi, its new project of the largest wholesale market of Ukraine in Kyiv, during the conference. The general sponsor of the conference is Raytec Vision Spa which is a leader in development and supply of high-technology inspection and sorting equipment for berries.
“Berry consumption remains relatively low in Ukraine in comparison with other countries, and the only reason for this is lack of supply. And this means that excellent investment opportunities are opening up before producers”, Mr. Andriy Yarmak, Head of Fruit-Inform Project, says. “Moreover, Ukraine has almost undeveloped segment of quick (shock) freezing of berries and other fruits and vegetables which is actively developing in the whole world. Therefore we are sure that this conference will give a lot of new ideas for companies both already participating in berry business and just planning to do it”, the expert continues.
