Russia sharply increased bell pepper imports from Israel
According to Fruit-Inform Project, Russia sharply increased bell pepper imports in 2011. Imported volumes in the first five months of this year were record-breaking for such a period ever and 21% more than in the same period of last year.
Israel remains Russia's main supplier of bell peppers. In the first five months of 2011 this country managed to export 72% more bell peppers to Russia than in the whole year 2010. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform Project, expects Russia's imports of bell peppers to reach record-breaking 120-135 thousand tonnes this year.
