According to Fruit-Inform Project's analysts, Russia’s annual imports of fruits & vegetables have reached US $7.8bn in the past season breaking yet new record. Russia's fresh produce market is already one of the largest in the world and is growing at about 15% per year.

“Due to a rapid increase of fruit & vegetable imports in the recent years, Russian importers are eager to find reliable suppliers”, says Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform Project. “In Russia, a lot depends on personal relationships and trust, but a lot of companies-suppliers ignore this factor. Moreover, while Russia remains a rather price sensitive market, it is now quickly turning from price to quality”, continues Mrs. Getman.

Detailed information about the Russian fruit & vegetable market will be provided by Fruit-Inform Project and other leading industry experts during the Fourth international conference "Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia - 2011" on September 14, 2011 in Moscow within a framework of the World Food Moscow exhibition.
