Ukraine being the largest target market for Georgian fruits

According to Fruit-Inform Project, Ukraine became the largest target market for Georgian fruits due to impossibility of Georgia's exports to Russia. Last season Ukraine's share in total fruit and nut exports from Georgia amounted to about 17%. Germany was Georgia's second largest target market. Among other important importers of Georgian produce were Azerbaijan, Iran, Czech Republic and Italy.

Citrus fruits (mainly mandarins) account for more than a half of Ukraine's total fruit and nut imports from Georgia. In addition, Georgia actively exported hazelnuts to Ukraine. At the same time, Georgia's apple exports to Ukraine decreased in recent years thanks to growth of domestic production in the latter.
