60% decrease of fruit and vegetable prices in Ukraine in July
Fruit-Inform Project's fruit and vegetable index shows that fruits and vegetables became 60.9% cheaper in Ukraine in July 2011. Moreover, major vegetables, fruits and potatoes have been decreasing in price since May. None of fresh produce categories became more expensive in July. The sharpest decrease of prices was registered for potatoes: almost 3 times over a month. Tomatoes, red beets and carrots showed almost the same price decrease rate. White cabbages became 42% cheaper; cucumbers, onions and bananas – 20-30% cheaper. 17% reduction of apple prices was possible due to the start of harvesting of new apples.
