Poland to harvest up to 2.3 mln tonnes of apples in 2011
According to Fruit-Inform Project's analysts, the majority of Polish gardeners forecast apple production in the country to be higher than expected before due to favorable weather conditions during the vegetation period. Now the production is estimated to reach 2.2-2.4 mln tonnes in comparison with 1.85 mln tonnes a year before.
According to Polish experts, this will lead to sharp decrease of apple prices. With regard to good production prospects in other EU countries, Polish analysts expect almost 2 times fall of apple prices in Poland's market.
