Sharp increase of Russia's peach and nectarine imports
According to Fruit-Inform Project, Russia's imports of peaches and nectarines in the first half of 2011 were the highest over all history of the Russian Federation.
“In January-June 2011 Russia imported 1.5 times more peaches and nectarines than in the same period of last year when imports were record high too”, Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform Project, says. “Such a sharp growth of imports was partially caused by low prices for stone fruits in the southern EU countries”, the expert adds.
More detailed information about Russia's fresh produce import prospects as well as the fresh produce production and price forecast will be presented for participants of the Fourth International Conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2011”. The event will take place in conjunction with World Food Moscow, September 14, 2011. Registration of the conference participants is currently in active progress.
