It will be easier to purchase fruits and vegetables for export in Ukraine

Ukraine's fresh produce exports will be one the centers of attention at the Fourth International Conference “Fruit & Vegetable Business of Russia – 2011” which will be hosted in conjunction with World Food Moscow, September 14, 2011. We would remind you that Ukraine being one of the most important fresh produce supplier of Russia is getting ready for the crisis of internal vegetable and potato overproduction.

The rhythmicity of necessary produce export volumes of appropriate quality is Ukraine's main problem in exports to the Russian Federation. However, Ukraine will gain an opportunity to solve this problem in the season 2011/12 thanks to collaboration with modern wholesale markets which have already started their operation in the country. The wholesale markets will have logistics centers with post-harvesting, sorting, packing and temporary storage areas; and regular availability of a wide range of produce in large volumes will favor purchases for export. By the way, mainly thanks to such a scheme, Ukraine managed to export the record-breaking volumes of watermelons through Shuvar Wholesale Market in Lvov in 2010.

Ukraine's network of wholesale markets as an opportunity for mutually beneficial trade with the Russian Federation is a subject of the conference speech of Roman Fedishin, President of Association of Wholesale Markets of Ukraine.

The conference will be attended by such leaders of the Russian fresh produce market as Teplichnoye, Kirov Sovkhoz, Agronom. The event also aroused a great interest from major Ukrainian companies such as Fresh Food Company, Kalinovka Trading House, Chernihiv Industrial Dairy Company, Zaporizhya Vegetable Company. Their participation has been already confirmed by many foreign companies engaged in the fresh produce business, inclusive of Silvi Cola (Poland), Dole Asia (Philippines), Kohinoor International General Trading (UAE).
