Fruits and vegetables again decrease in price in Ukraine

Fruit-Inform's fresh produce index shows that fruits and vegetables decreased in price by 1.2% last week, after a slight 2.4% growth a week earlier. In such a way, fruits and vegetables have been decreasing in price for the 11th month in a row that is absolutely unprecedented in Ukraine.

“Greenhouse vegetables were the main reason for last week's decrease in prices, as growth of their supply led to the price collapse. At the same time, prices of traditional vegetables (onions, white cabbages, red beets, carrots) and potatoes were stable, as a slight increase in prices of last year's high-quality white cabbages was compensated by a decrease in early white cabbage prices”, Mrs. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform, said. “Moreover, with the supply growing, early produce will continue to become less expensive in Ukraine”, the expert added.
