State Reserve will be buying import grain
Verkhovna Rada (parliament of Ukraine) December 11 passed the law about amendments into the law of 2003 state budget (concerning purchases of milling grain into the State Reserve), Ukrainian Financial Server has informed.
The new law allows the State Reserve purchasing not only Ukrainian grain, but also that imported into the country, using the funds, allocated from state budget.
According to the law, there have been allocated 400 million hryvnias for grain purchases from the state budget (5.33 hryvnias = $1).
The author of the law - People's Deputy Katerina Vashchuk (Agrarian Party Faction) - has noted that the changes were necessitated by shortage of Ukrainian grain.
