A load of illegally imported US chicken hams detained by Ukrainian customs
Ukrainian customs officers detained in Nikolaev Oblast a 17-tonne truckload of smuggled American chicken hams, which were being transported under disguise of refined sugar, press-service of State Customs Service informed on Monday.
The accompanying documents read that the truck was to transport granulated sugar, but when the customs officers had unsealed the truck, they found 945 crates of "Bush's legs", illegally carried onto the territory of Ukraine. There were no documents found, proving the quality an origin of the product. The load has been detained and the protocol about a breach of customs regulations issued. The authorities consider starting a criminal case.
