Ukraine is not endangered by "bird flu", as it does not import poultry meat from South-East Asia - veterinary service

A ban for import of chicken meat from Thailand and some other countries of South-East Asia has been in effect in Ukraine for several years already. Therefore, our country is out of danger of getting infected with "bird flu", an official from the State Department of Veterinary Medicine has told UNIAN news agency.

The disease, which may infect humans through meat of the ill birds, has been reportedly detected in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
