Livestock industry production in 2003

According to State Statistics Committee, sales of animals and poultry for slaughter in 2003 increased 4.1 percent from the previous year and made 2.62 million tonnes.

The production of milk was 13.66 million tonnes - 3.4 percent down from 2002 (the production in 2002 was 14.14 million tonnes).

Production of eggs in the past year made 11.48 billion - 1.5 percent up from the year before.

Production of wool dropped 1.1 percent from 2002 - to 3,350 tonnes (in 2002 - 3,390 tonnes).
