Kiev-Konty bought Russian confectionery plant

Closed joint-stock company Kiev-Konty (Kiev), one of the largest confectionaries in Ukraine, has bought Russian closed joint-stock company Konditer-Kursk confectionary, PR-manager of Kiev-Konty Andrey Buryak said. According to him, it would allow the company to increase its share on the Russian domestic market and enrich the commodities.

Last year Kiev-Konty`s products, except new factory's capacity, totaled 370 billion hryvnias, up 45.4 percent in comparison with 2002, the official sources said.

Kiev-Konty`s share on the Ukrainian domestic market is estimated by experts at 10 percent, i.e. it's the third largest company in the confectionary branch in Ukraine.

Closed joint-stock company Kiev-Konty was founded in 1997 and its members are Gorlovsky, Konstantinovsky and Donetsk confectionaries (Donetsk oblast).

Closed joint-stock company Konditer-Kursk was founded in 1998 and produced more than 150 items, inter alia chocolate sweets, caramel, biscuits, waffles, chocolate etc.
