Poland: prices of apples for processing start growing
This week apples for processing have started growing in price in Poland. For the present, Polish farmers ship apples at 0.08-0.10 euro/kg, while a week earlier Polish processors purchased raw apples at no higher than 0.07-0.09 euro/kg. The reason for higher prices of apples for processing was information about an increase in prices for apple juice concentrate (AJC) in the EU-15 market.
We would remind you that last week many informational agencies reported of an increase in prices for AJC made of last year's apples to 1,550 euro/tonne that was 5% higher compared with the same period of the previous season. European experts connect higher prices of AJC with sharp reduction of last year's AJC stocks in many EU countries and expectations of lower apple supply there due to relatively small production.
