Lower Dutch apple exports to Ukraine

According to State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in the first 2 months of the season 2012/13, Ukraine imported only 260 tonnes of apples from the Netherlands that was 16% lower year-on-year. In addition, in the season 2011/12, Dutch apple exports to Ukraine were two times lower year-on-year.

International experts are sure that in this season the Netherlands will keep on reducing apple exports to Ukraine. Lower sales in the international market will be a result of lower apple production in the Netherlands. According to WAPA data, Dutch apple production in 2012 will amount only to 320,000 tonnes that will be 20% lower year-on-year and the worst in the past 10 years.
