Ukrainian exporters' complaints about Russian purchasers
Ukrainian exporters complain about low financial returns from apple exports to Russia. Traders are dissatisfied with Russian purchasers' prices. Moreover, they cannot increase incomings by lowering their own purchasing prices too.
Only several weeks ago, after long hesitation, Ukrainian farms came to a decision to reduce selling prices to 0.27-0.30 euro/kg that enabled Ukrainian apples to appear in the Russian market. For the present, Russian wholesale companies and retail chains are ready to purchase Ukrainian apples at no higher than 0.50-0.57 euro/kg. At the same time, Ukrainian exporters say that almost all difference between producers' prices and purchasers' ones is spent for transportation and customs formalities.
