Ukraine: lower prices of apples for processing
Prices of apples for processing became lower in Ukraine. Current prices of raw apples vary between UAH 0.60-1.20/kg (EUR 0.06-0.11/kg) that is 10% lower week-on-week.
Lower competition between processing enterprises is connected with the end of procurement season. At the same time, the supply of apples is still very high in the market: many farms offer autumn apples unsold in the fresh market.
An additional reason for a decrease in prices is lower demand for apple juice concentrate (AJC) in Ukraine that, in its turn, is connected with weaker trading activity in the EU AJC market.
It should also be noted that prices of apples for processing fell more than 30% year-on-year in Ukraine.
