Fresh produce price index grows in Ukraine

Fruit-Inform's Ukrainian fresh produce price index grew by 2.2% last week. The price growth recommenced in the country after a period of relative stability with slight negative trends. At the same time, the price index of potatoes and traditional vegetables (onions, white cabbage, red beets, carrots) did not change.

“Last week greenhouse cucumbers again became more expensive in connection with the end of the season in summer greenhouses. In addition, grape prices also rose due to lower supply of these fruits”, said Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. “As regards traditional vegetables and potatoes, their prices remained stable after a long period of continual negative performance (since the start of harvesting campaign in August”.
