Ukrainian fresh produce price index continues to decrease

Fruit-Inform's Ukrainian fresh produce price index decreased by 0.6% last week, after a 2.7% decline a week earlier. Moreover, after sharp price fluctuations in early November, fresh produce prices were relatively stable in the country.

“The most important price fluctuation was registered in the mandarin segment due to higher supply of Turkish produce. Moreover, mandarin consumption significantly grew in Ukraine last week”, said Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. “At the same time, a slight increase in cucumber prices was compensated by lower tomato prices”.

In the nearest weeks, the Ukrainian fresh produce price index will depend mainly on greenhouse vegetables and citrus fruits, while prices of traditional vegetables (onions, white cabbage, red beets, onions) and potatoes will be relatively stable.

We would remind you that more information about current developments and future prospects in the Ukrainian and Russian fruit and vegetable markets is available for subscribers of Fruit-Inform Weekly service package.
