Kazakhstan: situation in grain market

Prices for milling wheat on the market continue to drop. Offers have started to arrive of large shipments of 3rd class milling wheat, priced $175 to 180 per tonne, DAF, Russian frontier. The demand on the part of Russian consumers of milling wheat has somewhat livened. It should be noted, however, that there is virtually no demand for large shipments as the majority of Russian importers are avoiding the risks of dealing with large amounts of wheat, because of uncertainties in their domestic market, in terms of both prices and the stocks. Therefore, the contracts for wheat, when being concluded, are usually for shipments, sized 2,000 to 3,000 tonnes at $125 to 185 per tonne, DAF Tobol.
